A spring afternooon rainbow above Goleta Beach and More's Landing. Managed by County of Santa Barbara as Goleta Beach County Park. 29 acres (120,000 m2) large including 4,200 feet (1,300 m) of beach. Beach itself partly man-made as sand was spread onto an existing sandspit in 1945. Seasonal habitat for migrating shorebirds including the snowy plover, an endangered species. The pier, More’s Landing, built in 1874 and refurbished in the 1920s by the federal Department of Forestry.
