The Greater Roadrunner (geococcyx californianus) or "Californian Earth-cuckoo," also Chaparral Cock, Ground Cuckoo, and snake killer. Native to Mexico and southwest US. Grows to 22 in. (56cm) and 10.5oz (300g). Largest North American cuckoo. Known to race down roads with moving vehicles, ergo the name.
